ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Simply Stylist
After a morning of doing pulls, I stopped by Simply Stylist. The event introduces stylists to a bevy of brands in a pop-up showroom. I was wowed by so many lines. But I of course had a few faves: 1) Alisa Michelle Designs: I met custom jewelry designer Alisa Taxe, who made me a coin necklace right there on the spot! It looked very cool layered with my chains. 2) Camille K: I’m a sucker for statement jewelry and each of the pieces were so incredibly unique because they’re made from vintage treasures found in Parisian flea markets. 3) Pskaufman… Twisted Classics: Not only is shoe designer Paul Kaufman a delight to talk to he’s ridiculously talented. His twists on industrial classics are made from repurposed tires, leathers and hand-painting, resulting in masterpieces like this. The collection launches this fall.
I also got to chat with the lovely Rachel Meis of The Contact List (a co-sponsor at the event), who’s skirt had similar pleating as my cobalt dress. Not wanting to break up the silhouette like I usually do with black, I took a navy ribbon and transformed it into a belt so my necklace, which I wrapped twice to make it shorter, could stand out.
