4 Neutral Nail Polishes for the Perfect Everyday Mani

05.16.17

There is nothing like having a fresh manicure to for a perfectly polished look. For Spring and Summer, I tend to go with neutral manis. One, they last longest (you don’t see chipping as much!). And two, they work with my tanner skin. Here are my top four neutral nail polishes I use for different reasons:

When I go To the Nail Salon

For years I was loyal to Essie “Fiji,” While I still love the pinkish-white shade, recently Essie “High Class Affair” has become my go-to. It’s a pinkish-peach that blends in with my skin tone. It also compliments this season’s popular blush trend, which I find myself wearing on a weekly basis. I generally bring my polish with me when I’m getting a manicure at the nail salon. That way I can do touch-ups througout the week.

When I’m Doing My Nails at Home

If I don’t have time to get my nails done, I use Essie Gel Couture nail polish at home. The thicker brush makes applying a breeze. I do “Lace Me Up” for a creamy pinkish-white color. One little tip when applying this polish: let each coat dry before you apply the next one for a smoother finish.

When I get Gels For Vacation

Gels can be rough on your nails so I try to save salon gel manicures for vacation. I hate going through the endless options so I always request the same shade: OPI “Tiramasu for Two.” It’s a pinkish-beige that offers the perfect nude. I also like that you can match your toes with the non-gel nail polish in the same shade.

When I Want to Give My Nails A Break

I generally stick with opaque nail polishes. Since I work with my hands a lot styling, I find my nails to get too dirty to use sheer polishes. But sometimes I feel the need to give my nails a break. Instead of having nothing on my nails, I started using Essie Treat Love & Color, which offers a bit of color while still treating and strengthening your nails. I use “Sheers to You” for a subtle touch of pink.
