How to Mix Jewel Tones for Fall

Sydne Style shows what bags to wear for fall with forever 21 backpack I’m always excited when jewel tones return for Fall. Emerald, sapphire, ruby and topaz have such a luxe vibe, not matter what article of clothing you wear. They’re also fun to mix. Here are my four tips for mixing jewel tones:

1. Pick two main colors.

The easiest way to colorblock with jewel tones is by picking out two standout colors. In this look, my main color was yellow topaz, which I did with a mustard sweater and suede bomber jacket. For my secondary color I did emerald green pumps.

Play with your beauty closet to bring in a third jewel tone. You can do a sapphire blue manicure or add a ruby red pop with lipstick.

3.Accent with neutrals or denim.

Once you have your main colors, keep everything else neutral. I did a pair of jeans but you can also do nudes, blacks or whites.

4. Increase the luxe factor with metallics.

Bring in a touch of gold or silver to make even the most casual look extra glam. I did a large buckle belt and gold hardware on my backpack (it’s only $25!).
