One trick I use time and time again is switching a dress into a skirt with a button-down. I prefer chambray because it’s a heavy enough material that it won’t show the fabric underneath. But it’s still light enough to fold over and belt it. When doing this trick, make sure you use a thick belt (preferably with a bit of stretch) so your shirt tail doesn’t peek through. I kept the casual vibe by adding leather accessories, then brought out the stripes of my skirt with a matching necklace.

As you probably know from reading my blog, I’m a huge fan of Ann Taylor. I also have loved Kate Hudson ever since she played Penny Lane in Almost Famous. So it’s safe to say I was beyond ecstatic to hear that duo was teaming up for a capsule collection (it launches today!). The Kate Hudson for Ann Taylor collection is white hot… literally. It’s full of elegant white pieces and rose gold accents. I was lucky enough to choose my favorites. I went with this timeless white dress, which reminds me of a day version of Kate’s awards season gowns. Thanks to it’s asymmetrical hem and sheer paneled neckline, it doesn’t need much else aside from some bangles and metallic shoe—another brilliant Kate design that is oh so comfortable!

Swarovski adds sparkle to any outfit. That’s why I’m thrilled to host an event with them this Wednesday offering 15% off their gorgeous crystal designs. If you’re around LA I’d love to see you (the invite is at the end of this post)! Inspired by this gorgeous Atelier Swarovski by Vanessa Seward necklace, I’m going with an aquatic feel for the night. By belting a cardigan on top of my dress, I was able to hide the cutouts. Then I balanced out the blues with a gold crystal bracelet, quilted clutch and nude pumps. I finished it off with a coral lip, my current beauty obsession.
