ttF Fashion Staple: Purple Statement Necklace
The heat wave cooled off just enough yesterday for me to slip on my comfiest pair of boots for an afternoon at the Getty Villa. I wanted a relaxed look to walk around the gorgeous museum so I went with a t-shirt dress and cross-body bag. Of course, I had to have a little sparkle, which was easy with this month’s staple necklace. If you’re visiting LA I highly recommend checking out the space on one of those perfect Southern California days. There are so many incredible spots for pictures. But since October is my Bordeaux fashion month, I thought it was fitting to pose in front of a pool with statues depicting followers of Dionysus, the god of wine.

ttF Fashion Staple: Wine Velvet Jeans
When American Living asked me and a few other bloggers to style an outfit using pieces from their fall line my eyes immediately went to their animal prints. A little leopard makes a casual piece more luxe. Take this sweater, for example, which instantly dresses up my velvet leggings. And you’ve already seen me rocking the spotted bag here and here. I love how you can wear it over your shoulder, or tuck the strap in for a more ladylike handbag.

ttF Fashion Staple: Wool Floppy Hat
For this week’s MNG by Mango Mission, we were asked to create a look inspired by a landmark in our hometown. The classic, feminine silhouette of this MNG by Mango dress, sold exclusively at JCPenney, instantly made me think of Old Hollywood glamour. And the Tropicana Bar at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood oozes that swanky throwback to times when women got dressed up whenever they left the house. To up the retro glam factor, I paired the dress with a floppy hat, structured handbag and plenty of gold wrist candy. All that was missing? A 5pm martini.

ttF Fashion Staple: Purple Statement Necklace
This blue dress is one of my go-to pieces. It’s bright, never goes out of style and can be accessorized with just about anything. Today, I added a touch of shine with a gold glitter belt, which is actually from the girl’s section at Target. It’s a great place to find inexpensive belts that are small enough to go on the waist! I tapped into the colorblocking trend with navy shoes and a purple necklace, and then used a leopard bag as a neutral.
