Staple Used: Bright Shorts
Normally when I colorblock I go for contrasting colors. But sometimes it’s fun to stick to the same color family, too. Today I had a green moment with a neon sweater, a turquoise necklace and teal shorts. With so many colors, I made sure to keep the rest of my outfit neutral with metallics and nude. We found this little park in Beverly Hills and seemed so whimsical, just like my bright outfit.

ttF Day to Night: Turquoise Necklace

You’ve already seen how I wore my Cameron Diaz-inspired color combo for day. But when the sun set and it was time to go to dinner, all I needed were new accessories. First, I swapped my ballet flats for some more bold color at my feet. Then, I brought in black with a Marc Jacobs bag I borrowed from my mom and a mix of black and gold bangles. If only everything was as easy as this day to night switch.

ttF Fashion Staple: Turquoise Necklace
Magenta and turquoise will forever make me think of Cameron Diaz in Christian Dior and Fred Leighton at the Met Gala ( I can’t wait to see what everyone wears Monday night at the “Savage Beauty” Met Ball!). Even though Cam’s spectacular look was from four years ago, the color combo is still fresh and modern. Today, I took a casual approach to the brights for lunch at one of my fave West Hollywood spots, Lemonade. I’ve been going through a handbag slump so I tried using a new vintage scarf to spruce up an old purse. Expect to see this ttF trick more often.

ttF Fashion Staple: Turquoise Necklace
I recently received this top from Nally & Millie and it’s probably the most comfortable item of clothing I’ve ever owned. It has two layers: a fitted tank and a roomy tunic. The lightweight material is perfect for a full day of shopping. And what a full day it was! I can’t wait to show off my new purchases on ThinkThruFashion. Although I love my April ttF Fashion Staples I’m getting excited for May.
