Fall 2013 Fashion Week Trends: Yellow

From taxi cab colored coats to actual taxi accessories (see my Kate Spade video), yellow was bolder than ever for fall. Some designers added a green tint to the color, making it more chartreuse, while other kept it vibrant like a lemon. Most paired the hue with black, adding bold contrast for cooler seasons.
The Scene: Young Hollywood Awards

Last week, I was invited by Bing to the Young Hollywood Awards. I had such a nice time with my fellow LA bloggers walking the red carpet, snapping pics of the celeb honorees and sipping champagne as we watched the evening’s festivities. Ginnifer Goodwin was by far the best dressed of the night, in white lace Monique Lhuillier and a bright pink lip. So it was no surprise that she won Style Icon of the year (see all the winners here).
As for me… 
I borrowed this fab peplum dress from BCBGMaxAzria (how insane is the corseted back?!) and jewels from Kendra Scott. I finished it off with a Lauren Merkin bag and Betsey Johnson shoes from my own closet.

ttF Fashion Staple: Black Lace Cardigan
Tonight, I stopped by the 7 for All Mankind preview at Soho House (you can check out photos on my Tumblr). While the collection was all about prints, when it came to party guests the trend was lace. I mixed mine with leopard, and added a pop of color with a DIY bag. I bought this quilted purse at a flea market years ago. Inspired by this Rebecca Minkoff bag, I glue-gunned a ladybug brooch onto the leather to kick it up a notch.
