ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: I Spy Rain
Today was another cold, rainy day. My suede boots aren’t exactly made for wet weather but I’m obsessed and the amount that I walk outside when it rains won’t come close to damaging them. But my hair is another story. I hate getting it wet then going back inside the freezing cold office. So I topped off my all-black outfit with a parka that features a zipped-up hood. Without the jacket, I felt like a spy. My friend at work called me a ninja. I suppose that’s close enough.
I barely had any time to get ready today so I used a red lip to brighten my face. Back in March, I made red lips one of my fashion staples. I miss wearing the bold color. Now that summer’s over, I think I’m going to bring it back.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Shrimp and Grits
Since I loved grits so much, my parents insisted I must try shrimp and grits on my last night. It sounded weird but I thought, why not? Long story short, my stepdad ended up eating them and I have yet to taste the Southern dish. That’s okay; I’ll be back to Memphis soon enough.
After changing out of my black, lace and gold ensemble, I played with Bunny and our family Goldens, Bear and Fuzzy, and baked for the dogs with my mom. I don’t cook, so it was kind of hilarious that I spent my last night making cheese dog biscuits (you can read about it on my canine brother’s blog, Love Always Bear). But it was a blast—and a wonderful end to my first trip down South.
