ttF Fashion Diary: Ruffled Errands

ttF Fashion Staple: Ladylike Jacket
From doing fashion pulls to getting a new license at the DMV, today was packed full of errands. When running around, I want to stay comfortable but still looked put together. I usually wear this dress by the pool during the summer. But by adding a jacket, it instantly makes it showroom friendly. And ballet flat are always a classic when you have to be on your feet.

ttF Fashion Diary: Pink Dot

ttF Fashion Staple: Crystal Bracelet
I finally picked up a batch of clothes I had left at the dry cleaner for over a month. Inside was my fave draped skirt, which you can wear from winter into spring. My feet have been killing from being in heels 24/7 so today, I went with ballet flats, which at 5’4 is a rarity for me.

I usually just layer a black cami under this polka dot top but I wanted to do something a little more colorful. So I added a hot pink tank underneath to let the color peek through the sheer fabric, then matched it with a bright gloss. Bold lip color is the best when you’re in a rush to get ready because you don’t much more makeup then tinted moisturizer, mascara and blush.

ttF Fashion Diary: Leather For Day

ttF Fashion Staple: Leather Leggings
When you think of where to wear leather pants the office is probably the last place that comes to mind. But when everything else in your outfit is sweet and conservative, matte leather works just as well for daytime as the classic black cigarette pant. Now notice I said matte. Shiny styles are much harder to pull off.

Today, I contrasted the edgy material with soft blushes on top: a high-neck lace blouse and a long sparkle cardigan. Patent ballet flats kept my feet comfortable on bottom. I had planned to go out later in the evening and was going to swap the flats for pointy pumps, open the cardi and add the pearls I wore here. But once I got home, I never made it out again.

ttF Fashion Diary: Layered Decadence

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Layered Decadence
I love the versatility of a simple mini dress. You can go minimal and  play with bold color like I did during New York Fashion or use the dress as a backdrop to some really bold accessories. Today, I did the latter and layered four different necklaces: my staple for this month, two pearl necklaces from my grandma (one was doubled) and I doubled a heavy black ball chain. It weighed me down a bit but I loved the look so it was worth it.

I would have preferred this outfit with heels but my feet have been killing me so I went with a ballet flat. With all the jewelry up top, it’s not like anyone noticed my shoes anyway. And today was the last day I ever wear teal nail polish. I liked how it matched my dress but now it’s in the hands of my friend Kristen, who has a much better complexion for the colorful metallic.
