As much as I adore color, there’ s something so fresh about black and white prints. In fact, the zig-zag skirt above was my absolute favorite piece that came down Carlos Miele’s bold runway. Whether you decide to go with a a classic houndstooth or funky tribal print, this trend is one you can wear year after year.

After a season full of skinny belts, designers decided the bigger the better. Waist cinchers ranged from harnesses to studs and obi belts but one thing was certain: all waist accessories were designed to create an hourglass silhouette.

While all metallics were present on the runway, gold was fittingly number one. Most of us don’t have the social calendar to wear one of the stunning gowns. But a mesh mini, sequined top or gold sandal adds the perfect amount of shine for a night out. I especially like how Carlos Miele paired it with white for a Grecian goddess effect.

After the holidays are over, it’s time to start working out those legs. Because up-to-there slits were everywhere. At Hervé there were even two on one dress! I preferred the higher necklines at Yigal and J. Mendel to balance out all the skin on bottom.
