Layering is key when it comes to festival fashion. It’s 95 degrees during the day then it majorly drops at night. For my first evening at Coachella I wanted something that wouldn’t show dirt but still looked chic. I opted for desert colors: mustard cut-offs and brown shoes. I wore a bikini bandeau under my lace top to let a pop of color peek through. Later in the evening, I added some flowers to my hair to really get into the spirit. You can see more pics of the festival and behind-the-scenes at The StyleCaster X UGG Australia StyleHaven House on my Twitter and Instagram: @sydnesummer. Happy Sunday! (more…)
You might remember me introducing you to the new Paul Mitchell Curls Products. My girl Beth Jones modeled in the campaign! Well, now the products are available at salons, including Raika Studio, where I had the pleasure of getting ready for Fashion’s Night Out.
I have pretty straight hair, so plenty of product is needed if I want to keep my curls. To achieve my look for the night, my hairstylist used Paul Mitchell The Ultimate Wave. It added awesome texture and helped keep away frizz, even in the extreme humidity.
Fashion Staple Used: Embellished Neckline Tank
The colored jeans trend is continuing for fall. Now the hues are just richer and the fabric is more luxe, thanks to coated to denim. To elongate my legs in these red leatherette skinnies I added a matching bootie. It’s a little trick I recommend to all my fellow shorties out there. If you’re shorter, it also helps to tuck your top into your pants.

Fashion Staple Used: T-Shirt Dress
By the time we left Maui, I had already worn my t-shirt dress twice. So I decided to turn it into a top when I got to Waikiki. Since it’s such a lightweight material, it easily folds under, perfect for wearing with colorful cut-offs. For a little color-blocking I added orange accessories and kept my face protected from the Hawaiian sun with oversize sunnies and a floppy hat.
