ttF Fashion Diary: Olive Snake

ttF Fashion Staple: Chain Belt and Colorful Snakeskin Pumps
It may be fall, but we’re having major summer weather in Los Angeles. So last night I went for one of my favorite transitional dresses. The olive color works from spring to winter depending on accessories. By pairing it with this month’s snakeskin staples, I was able to tap into one of my favorite trends for fall: colorblocking.

My friend Suzi (check out her Susan Thompson Cosmetics line here) and I went to shop for a cause at GUESS on Rodeo. The Bachelorette‘s Ali Fedotowsky and C Magazine were hosting the event in support of Susan G. Komen For The Cure. Ali kept it classic by pairing a GUESS by Marciano Shalin shirt with skinny jeans and leopard pumps. When I complimented her on her beige button-down she said she picked it out in three colors because it was such a great basic. Smart girl.

ttF Fashion Diary: Fox 5

ttF Fashion Staple: Orange Pencil Skirt and Colorful Snakeskin Pumps
This week I shot a fall trends fashion segment for Fox 5 San Diego. I’ll post a video soon, but in the meantime, here’s a sneak peek of what everyone wore. I went with sunset-themed colorblocking: a rust blouse, a deep orange shirt and yellow shoes. Colorblocking, as you can see below on my model Cindy, was one of the trends featured… as was mixed prints (on Melissa) and tuxedo-inspired looks (on Clarisse). I can’t wait for you guys to see the segment!

I have quite the ketchup and mustard fashion obsession. Even though I just wore the color combo during fashion week, I couldn’t help but try it out again for a girl’s night out with my friend Jamie. What I love about this dress is the blouson style top allows you to wear it knee-length (like I did in February) or as a mini. All you have to do is pull the skirt up and let the extra fabric fold over.

I was having one of those hair days where my bangs simply would not cooperate. So I brushed them back into a soft bouffant. The retro hairstyle inspired me to dig through my vintage and pull out clip-on earrings. I loved the way they looked but after just an hour at a Lucky Brand party at the Everleigh they started to majorly kill. I’ll be staying away from the clip-ons for a while.

ttF Fashion Diary: NYFW Day 5

Today was the perfect fashion week day. I kicked off the morning with one of my absolute fave designer, Jenny Packham, who showed a feminine collection of lingerie-inspired looks embellished with intricate beading and vibrant colors. The chiffon floated beautifully along the runway. And as Rowenta Style Ambassador Althea Harper told me earlier in the week, the material definitely requires some serious steaming before a show.

Speaking of Rowenta, the steamer and iron sponsor invited me to mega A-list show, Carolina Herrera. Nicki Minaj sat front row with Anna Wintour (odd mix!) while longtime fan Renée Zellweger smiled at all the looks that came down the runway.

Next, it was on to Carlos Miele, which featured loud prints and color. But my fave looks were the more refined separates. After popping into Rachel Roy’s womenswear-meets-menswear presentation, I headed to Rebecca Minkoff’s desert inspired show. And I absolutely fell in love with this jacket.

Finally, it was back to the American Express Skybox for VLOV (check out my coverage on the AMEX blog). As for what I wore? I went with ketchup and mustard, spicing up a red dress with a matching pout and yellow accessories. Thanks to Tresseme, my bad hair day turned into Jessica Rabbit-style waves towards the end of the day and I simply adored the retro glamour.
