ttF Fashion Staples Month #12 Summary: December Glitz
I can’t believe the year is over! It feels like just yesterday I decided to begin the year-long ttF Fashion Staples Series. And now I’m done with the final month (not to fear, due to requests from many readers I’ll be continuing the series into 2011).

I wanted to go glam for my last month in 2010. So I based my December Staples around luxe materials. The vest seemed to be a reader favorite. I kept getting tweets from my followers that they bought the same one! I hope everyone who now owns one wears it well.

ttF Fashion Staple: Crystal Brooch Heels
For the last day of 2010 I actually repeated a dress. Hey, if the first lady can do it why can’t I? In a sea of sequins, I thought bold color would be a great choice. I re-wore a vintage dress I bought for my 60s themed birthday. Instead of a bouffant, I did sleek hair and disco ball jewelry.

It was a hit on camera. I did fashion commentary for E! Online’s livestream from Kourtney Kardashian’s Ciroc party. Kourt went for a bold color, too but smartly pulled her hair into an oversize bun. It was so windy up on the rooftop at the Gansevoort!

After my segment, I went with my best friend Shauna over to the Delano for Richie Rich & Susanne Bartsch’s bash. Turns out I wasn’t the only one who thought turquoise was the color to ring in the new year. I matched all the drag queens! At least it made for good photo ops. Happy New Year!

ttF Fashion Staple: Crystal Bow Heels
I bought this dress back when I did a shoot for Mystyle at Bebe. The color sold me but when I tried it on at home the cutouts and mesh were a little more daring than I wanted to look in Los Angeles. So it sat in my closet until it was time to go to Miami, a city where skin is the best accessory.

I added some sparkle with my shoes and a necklace my aunt bought me for the holidays from Amelia Rae Designs. We were in for a special treat at dinner, and kicked off my best friend Shauna’s birthday celebrations at Zuma. The Japanese restaurant was to die for. And after a few too many cheers with smoky sake, I forgot about the cutouts and we danced the night away at SET.

ttF Fashion Staple: Black Bustier
I returned to one of my favorite cities for New Year’s: Miami. After missing my first flight, I didn’t arrive to Shore Club until 11pm.  So I majorly had to rush to get ready to meet my friends at LIV. I went for a very similar outfit as I wore during my last South Beach trip with taupe and black separates. A ruby lip with golden specks added a touch of color to the neutral look. And, like always in Miami, I had an absolute blast.

ttF Fashion Diary: Bustier Spice

ttF Fashion Staple: Black Bustier
My absolute favorite way to wear a bustier is with jeans. It’s so simple, yet incredibly sexy. Since it’s been a little chilly, I added a tweed jacket and used my crystal heels for sparkle. A red lip was an easy way to bring my daytime makeup into night. Plus, I was having a bad day and red lipstick has the magical ability to uplift my spirits. I had planned to go to a nice dinner with my friend but because of time constraints (aka I still haven’t packed for Miami and my flight leaves in 8 hours) we ended up just settling for delish Creole cooking at the Gumbo Pot in the Farmer’s Market. I was a tad over dressed but I suppose the spice of my outfit matched the Cajun jambalaya.
