ttF Fashion Staples Month #12 Summary: December Glitz
I can’t believe the year is over! It feels like just yesterday I decided to begin the year-long ttF Fashion Staples Series. And now I’m done with the final month (not to fear, due to requests from many readers I’ll be continuing the series into 2011).

I wanted to go glam for my last month in 2010. So I based my December Staples around luxe materials. The vest seemed to be a reader favorite. I kept getting tweets from my followers that they bought the same one! I hope everyone who now owns one wears it well.

One Vince Thermal Chubby Sweater, 3 Different Celebrity Looks

As temperatures drop, oversize sweaters are heaven sent. Recently, I’ve been noticing celebrities in Vince’s Thermal Chubby Sweater ($265). It looks incredibly cozy and comes in Smoke and Nutmeg. My fave is Emma Watson in New York. I like the way she layered plaid underneath and kept it streamlined with a skinny black pant. Jennifer Love Hewitt is my least fave. Granted, she was only going to get hair done in Studio City, but when you’re wearing furry boots, a sweater and a leather jacket, why show your stomach? Layering a cami underneath could have been a quick fix. Or, she could have done a higher waist pant like Rihanna did while walking around NYC.

ttF Fashion Staples Month #11 Summary: November Leaves
I based my November Staples around Fall colors. But when the month began, it certainly didn’t feel like Fall. It was in the 90s! As the weeks went on, and I traveled to Memphis for Thanksgiving, the temperatures dropped and I was able to layer for the season.

I could probably use the month’s shoe staple as a staple for the entire year. They’re comfortable, work for so many occasions, and each of the 8 times I wore them, I got at least two compliments.

One Mondo Polka Dots, 3 Different Looks
I was absolutely shocked when Mondo didn’t win Project Runway. I saw his creations in person at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and they were spectacular! That being said, I’m thrilled that Heidi Klum chose to wear his designs first on the red carpet. At tonight’s Black Swan screening at the closing night of AFI Fest the supermodel walked the carpet in the designer’s signature polka dots. But unlike the runway version, this gown was sleeveless, as Michael Kors and Nina Garcia advised. Now Heidi can wear anything, but part of me misses the sleeves of the dress. Sure it’s hard to pull off but it gave the garment an extra wow factor. As for wearability, the polka dot separates are still my fave. I would rock the patterned top with a metallic mini any day.
