Sydne Style - sequin top leather circle skirt Free People

French Connection Spiegal Sequins DressFashion Staple: Sequin Dress
Recently I’ve been very into spring’s Mod trend. To give my dress a bit of a 60s vibe, I turned it into a top by layering it under an A-line mini skirt. Staple of the Week: Plaid Shirt

(Pippa Middleton, Alessandra Ambrosio, Coco Rocha)

I can’t believe this is the last Staples Series of 2012. Where did this year go?! As my final staple of the year, I wanted something comfy and versatile. Enter the plaid shirt. You can go with flannel to keep warm, or a silk print for a fancier feel.

1. C&C California, $118 $82.60
2. Forever 21, $19.90
3. Madewell, $118
4. Free People, $108

Check back to see how I wear my plaid shirt in this week’s Staples Series!

Staple of the Week: Striped Maxi Dress

(Jessica Alba, Blake Lively, Olivia Wilde)

Stripes are trendy are year-round. And while a maxi dress might make you think of summer, styled correctly you can easily wear the trend from winter into spring. I’m obsessed with the ‘90s feel of florals and stripes together, so I’ll be styling my Juicy dress three ways this week. But I found other affordable alternatives, too:

1. Juicy Couture, $428
2. Free People, $248 $74
3. T by Alexander Wang, $320 $112
4. Ella Moss, $148
