ttF Fashion Staple: Gray Tights
For my mom’s last day, she took my friends and I to one of our fave brunch spots: Kings Road Cafe (yes, I have the best mother ever). It’s been abnormally hot all weekend but I figured I’d be cool enough in the shade to wear tights with my sailor-inspired look. Brunch was delish, as always, but the minute we were back in the sun for an afternoon walk with Bunny I had to swap the tights and boots for sandals. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining… but fashion wise, it’s been a little challenging having summer in January.

ttF Fashion Staple: Gray Tights
One of my favorite things about social media is how it brings people together. After she saw me come up in her Twitter feed through a retweet, my friend from middle school decided to reach out and contact me on Facebook. Tonight, we got together for dinner at Terroni. I thought by wearing bandage I might prevent myself from overeating so I layered a tee over my tie-dye dress to make it more casual. I don’t know who I was kidding. The stretchy material just got tighter as we caught up over delicious pasta.

ttF Fashion Staple: Gray Tights
Last time I wore this dress, I learned that it does not mix well with the wind. So tights are now a prerequisite to go underneath. I like the mix of grays, browns and purples. Since it has such an earthy feel, I used a wrist full of gold and studded bracelets to luxe it up a bit.

ttF Fashion Staple: Gray Tights
Apologies in advance for those of you who don’t like the ballerina trend. Because clearly I’m on a dancer kick. This chiffon skirt reminds me of the sheer wraps I used to wear to ballet class over my leotard. To make it look like I wasn’t just perfecting my pirouette, I went with unexpected gray tights and weighed down the look with a chunky bootie and bracelet. Still, I couldn’t help but do a little twirl as I waited for my green tea latte at Starbucks.
