The Staple: Cropped Orange Jacket
I love all the colorful suits celebrities have been rocking on the carpet this past year. But I’ve never had the courage to actually spend the money on one. Luckily, my new jacket just happened to perfectly match my flame pants from J. Crew. Aren’t fashion coincidences the best? I used blushes and rose gold to soften the bright pants suit. If you’re on the shorter side, like me, this cropped version of a jacket is a great way to try the menswear trend.

Hi, my name is Sydne and I’m addicting to colorblocking. Ok, so maybe it’s not an addiction but it’s certainly an infatuation. Unexpected color pairing can brighten up any day. Take yellow, green and bubblegum pink, for example!

Just remember: when doing the trend stick to 2-3 colors max. Then, balance out the rest of your outfit with neutrals and metallics.

The Staple: Yellow Button-Down Blouse
I’m a huge fan of the women’s pants suit. But my casual LA lifestyle makes it difficult to work the trend. So I did a relaxed variation by matching my blazer to my jeans. It’s a polished look for Casual Fridays at the office. Continuing my love for colorblocking, I did a primary colors trio (red + yellow + blue), substituting blue for a more classic navy.

Colorblock Clueless

The Staple: Yellow Button-Down Blouse
Clueless is in my top five fave movies of all time. Cher and Dionne still inspire my fashion today. Take this look, for example. Remember when Di wore a white button down with a wine mini dress to school? (Check out my Pinterest to refresh your memory).

I simply substituted her colors for some Lakers colorblocking (purple and gold!), ditched the knee-socks and added a statement necklace to take the outfit from the ’90s to 2012.
