ttF Fashion Staples Month #19 Summary: July Americana
Having a base color palette of red, white and blue certainly dictated my color scheme this month. I learned that red is a power color. It majorly pops on TV, and as one hair dresser informed me, it’s the ideal shade when you need to make an impression on a man. So needless to say, I will be incorporating more red pieces in my wardrobe in months to come. I also became obsessed with navy. It’s a classic alternative to black and looks great with a fresh summer glow.

ttF Fashion Staple: Colorful Wooden Bangles
Before I left for New York, I attended Kim Kardashian’s bridal shower. Guests couldn’t take photos at the intimate affair but you can see Kim’s gorgeous lilac dress and drool-worthy spiked Louboutins, as well as details from the lunch, in OK! Magazine‘s exclusive spread, out in newsstands this week (I included a little sneak preview below).

When deciding what to wear I thought of Charlotte York and went extra lady-like with florals, cream and a girlie bow belt. The strapless style was perfect for beating the heat. My only regret? Not following Kim’s lead by keeping cool with a sleek ponytail.

ttF Fashion Staple: Red Leather Bag
Summer rompers are so incredibly comfy, especially in lightweight cotton. I’ve had this one for years, and updated it for summer with red tribal jewelry (you may remember the pieces from Coachella) to take the train back from Atlantic City to NYC. I can’t believe July is over. Stay tuned for a round up of the Americana outfits I wore all month!

ttF Fashion Staple: Colorful Wooden Bangles
For my last night in Atlantic City, I went to Sunny Anderson’s Sweet and Stylish event. It combined a fashionable runway with delectable treats. The built-in necklace of my dress always reminded me of candy so it was perfectly fitting for the party. I had a blast dancing with this season’s cast of Food Network Star, including hot tamale Susie Jimenez. It was a sweet end to a fun-filled weekend!

ttF Fashion Staple: Red Leather Bag
I used to go to Atlantic City with my grandparents as a little girl. While my grandpa would gamble, I’d feed the pigeons with my grandmother and munch on soft pretzels and salt water taffy. I thought the boardwalk and casinos were full of sparkle and excitement. This outfit brought back my fond memories. It’s flirty by the shore with it’s sailor elements and metallic touches. Plus, the lightweight skirt was perfect for the heat as I ate my way through Food & Wine events.
