I’ve never gotten into American Idol. But I tune in now and then simply to see what Jennifer Lopez is wearing. And last week she killed it in Lanvin. I loved the contrast of her simple white top and sparkling maxi skirt with matching metallic heels. It’s a great combo for a casual chic evening. I did my own take with a more wearable pleated skirt sans slit and cotton tee.

The Staple: Yellow Button-Down Blouse
I’m a huge fan of the women’s pants suit. But my casual LA lifestyle makes it difficult to work the trend. So I did a relaxed variation by matching my blazer to my jeans. It’s a polished look for Casual Fridays at the office. Continuing my love for colorblocking, I did a primary colors trio (red + yellow + blue), substituting blue for a more classic navy.

ttF Fashion Staple: Metallic Bouclé Jacket
One trend that is continuing from fall into spring is colorful pants. That’s why I was instantly drawn to this flame cropped style. It works from season to season. To attend the Louis Verdad Spring/Summer 2012 fashion show (you can see pics of the beautiful collection on my Tumblr), I let the bright hue remain the main focus by keeping the rest of my outfit nude. While the outfit works for the current season, thanks to the textured blazer, I could easily see wearing it come March, too.

ttF Fashion Diary: Black Bejeweled

ttF Fashion Staple: Black & Gold Watch and Black Lace Cardigan
I can’t believe November is over! To celebrate the last night of what’s been such a wonderful month, I headed to Beverly Hills for Perrier-Jouët and Nola Singer Jewelry Line Soiree. The designer sells her line at Intermix and Planet Blue, but you can get a sneak peek of the new collection on my Tumblr.

As for what I wore? I’m thrilled I picked up these jeans from the tailor. The wide-leg style is so incredibly flattering, especially when paired with a matching top. The black separates give the feeling of a retro jumpsuit. For a pop of color I added a bold lip and my new bejeweled bag. Stay tuned later tonight for a roundup of all my outfits from this month!
