ttF Fashion Staples Month #17 Summary:  May Florals
Thanks to my floral staples, May was a very colorful month. I realized that my yellow necklace was worth every penny I splurged, you can never run out of ways to wear a printed scarf and Steve Madden wedges continue to be an incredibly comfortable shoe.

And I am now officially obsessed with Equipment shirts. I’m definitely going to have to stock up on more for the rest of summer.

ttF Fashion Staple: Sheer Floral Button-Down
Whenever a shoot has a theme, I usually incorporate it into what I’m wearing that day. As you can probably tell from the photo above, the theme of OK! Magazine’s Pretty Little Liars spread was style-palooza fashion. Before the actors arrived, we had to scout out locations. And my floral shirt and crochet vest worked perfectly to sit in for fab photographer Andrew Southam to snap up some test shots.

Here’s a little sneek peek into the shoot with Tammin Sursock (who plays Jenna Marshall) and Tyler Blackburn (who plays Caleb Rivers) from the hit ABC Family show. Both actors were total dolls and had awesome music stories. To see Niria Portella’s festival fashion spread and to read my interview check out this week’s OK! Magazine, on newsstands now.

ttF Fashion Staple: Floral Scarf
Although I believe you can wear white any time of the year, I figured it was appropriate to spend the day after Memorial Day in white denim. Inspired by my new navy Towne & Reese necklace, I took a nautical approach to my jeans with a navy blazer. A floral scarf spiced up a simple cami and I added neutral espadrilles for a little height.

tF Fashion Staple: Floral Scarf
A scarf is the perfect accessory for the beach because it’s so incredibly versatile. When you walk along the sand, you can tie it around your waist like a sarong over a bikini. If you feel like bike riding or popping into a bar for a drink, you can wrap it around your chest and tie it in back to create a flowy tube top over a pair of jean shorts.

I did both to celebrate Memorial Day in the South Bay. Since my new LUXE by Lisa Vogel bikini has these chic rosettes, I even incorporated the applique into my instant-DIY top by letting the flowers peek over the scarf.

It was one of those gorgeous days that makes you proud to be an American.

ttF Fashion Staple: Sheer Floral Button-Down
The key to bandage minis is balance. Whenever something is so short and tight on bottom, your top half can’t be too revealing. A button-down shirt does just the trick. The florals mixed with black gave me a slightly goth feeling so I piled on dark silver jewelry and kept the rest of my accessories simple and black.
