I kicked off this awards weekend at QVC’s annual Oscars bash. It was so much fun partying with some of my blogger babes on the red carpet and seeing fabulous stars in QVC’s live show. When deciding what to wear for the star-studded event, I was inspired by the deep pink hues I fell in love with this past fashion week. If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you know my passion for peplum. And lace, being one of spring’s biggest trends, was perfectly on point for the evening.

Everything leather is on trend for fall. I especially loved all the leather sleeves seen on jackets, dresses and coats. It gave just a touch of edge. And was right in line with the season’s mixed texture trend.

Gold was certainly the top metallic for Fall 2013. But every shiny color was accounted for. This trend works year round, so the minute you spot a metallic you love, make sure to scoop it up! You can pair it with other sparkling fabrics, like at Milly, or tone it down with black tights or a blazer.

Nineties made a major comeback on the fall runways. Grunge inspired looks were prevalent with dark lips, oversize plaid, tie-dye and Dr. Martens-style footwear. To stay in the current decade, mix one ’90s element into your look and keep the rest of your outfit simple and chic.
