Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all my mommy readers! I’ve been spending the weekend in San Diego with my gorgeous mom and my beautiful canine daughter, Bunny Bell (I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of pics of Miss B on my Instagram. If not, start following! I’m @sydnesummer).

This photo was taken last summer, while vacationing in Mexico. We had a white party and my mom got decked out in white jeans and a Catherine Malandrino top. How pretty is she? She’s taught me so many things over the years, including a beauty tip I shared with my fellow bloggers over on Style United. But the most important thing I’ve learned from my mother is to always believe in yourself and never give up on your dreams.

Whenever I’m asked about my style icons, my mother always comes to mind. We don’t have the same style (she’s much more conservative and classic while I’m more feminine and trendy). But her approach toward fashion always sticks in my mind: go for what looks good on you no matter what the trends. And often, less is more. Plus, as you can tell from our late 80s/early 90s photos, she definitely helped me perfect my fashion blogger poses at a young age.

So Happy Mother’s Day Mom! And I hope all my wonderful ThinkThruFashion readers are having a stylish Mother’s Day as well!

bunny-yoga-matI hope everyone is having a nice Mother’s Day. Mine has been wonderful so far. Bunny got me the most adorable present: a custom yoga mat. Now whenever I do Downward Dog I get smile at my dog.

Bunny designed the eco-friendly mat online at Yogamatic. They have a variety of pre-made mats to choose from (pictured above) or you can customize one with your own image. It comes with a free yoga bag and a percentage of each sale goes to Global Green.

A personalized yoga mat is a great present for anyone who does yoga or pilates. And if you want to throw in a little something extra, pair the mat with workout gear from Rese. Ever since I tested out various styles over four months ago it’s all I wear to exercise. The clothing is so comfortable and hides any imperfections from cellulite to muffin top. And it’s stylish enough to wear on errands, too.
