ttF Fashion Staples Month #11 Summary: November Leaves
 I based my November Staples around Fall colors. But when the month began, it certainly didn’t feel like Fall. It was in the 90s! As the weeks went on, and I traveled to Memphis for Thanksgiving, the temperatures dropped and I was able to layer for the season.

I could probably use the month’s shoe staple as a staple for the entire year. They’re comfortable, work for so many occasions, and each of the 8 times I wore them, I got at least two compliments.

Here’s the breakdown for November…

ttF Fashion Staple: Black Boyfriend Blazer
Tonight, my friend Jen and I were invited to the opening of Dry Bar in West Hollywood. If you haven’t heard of Dry Bar, it’s a pretty genius concept. It’s a salon that only does blowouts, no cut, no color, just blowouts for only $35. You can choose different styles, but my love of big hair led me towards Southern Comfort: big hair, lots of volume.

After bubbly and blowouts at the salon, it was time to head over to the Four Seasons to preview Rock & Republic’s latest shoe collection. A new friend I met that night, Sina, described my outfit as bohemian pirate. I guess that’s one way of looking at the stripes, studs, spikes and pearls! I think the cluster of pearls made the look. And it certainly was a conversation starter. But the chatter couldn’t last too long. Since I was only borrowing the piece for a shoot it was as if I was a fashion Cinderella… with very voluminous hair.

ttF Fashion Staples: Black Boyfriend Blazer, Ruffle Shift Dress & Leather Over the Knee Boots
I combined three staples of my staples in one outfit today! The red chains gave the look a holiday feel. And I was eager to wear my mother’s vintage bag she gave me over the holiday in Memphis. I went over to BCBG in Century City to plan for a holiday event I’m co-hosting this week with BCBG’s LA Brand Ambassador, Daniella Peters. I’m going to be doing a presentation on holiday dressing with celebrity stylist Colin Megaro. After meeting him, I’m even more excited about the party! Not only was he a total doll, he has such an incredible eye for fashion, which made picking out looks together even more enjoyable. I can’t wait to show you guys what we came up with!

ttF Fashion Staple: Ruffle Shift Dress
When it gets cold out in Los Angeles, I love breaking out my thermal shirts and chunky scarves. Today, I used them to make my ruffle dress casual enough for brunch with Kristen at Le Pain Quotidien. My cowboy boots, which are one of the comfortable shoes I own, dressed down the outfit even more. ttF Fashion Staple: Ruffle Shift Dress
Tonight my best friend Michelle was in town from Philadelphia. I was joining her and her family at her father’s birthday dinner at Thai Original BBQ in Studio City. I wanted to look nice but a dress was a little too much for the causal Valley restaurant. By folding the hem and tucking it underneath, I instantly turned the ruffles into a top! I used leather and my new Rock and Republic spiked booties to add a little edge. My favorite part of the outfit was when my friend told me the $30 dress looked like Lanvin.
