ttF Fashion Diary: See Spot Work

Today was my first day back in the office in 2010. So I wanted something colorful to kick off the year. I bought this dotted blouse at an E! wardrobe sale and it’s one of my go-to tops when I’m having a fat day. The baby doll style worked well to hide my holiday food and wine bloat.

The shoes, however, were not so helpful.

I ordered these pumps for about $10 after Christmas. They’re not a soft suede like my Steve Maddens but look great from far away. Everything was fine until I walked down to the courtyard with a friend to grab some lunch. Or should I say wobbled. The pain was unbearable! I’m hoping to fix the squished toes problem with a shoe pad to prevent my foot from sliding. If not, at least the heels were a steal.

ThinkThruFashion Tip:
Always have a pair of flats on hand the first time you wear a new pair of heels. I changed into my trusty London Soles when I returned to my desk. The outfit wasn’t as cute but my feet were beyond grateful.

ttF Daily Fave: Steve Madden Scratch & Shop Cards

Steve Madden Shoe SaleLast weekend I went to Steve Madden to buy one pair of gray pumps. I left with four boxes of shoes.

What caused the mini shopping spree? Steve Madden’s Scratch & Shop Cards.

I was lucky enough to scratch my way to 40% off my entire purchase. They didn’t have the gray heels I wanted in my size so I instead used my serious discount on the Trinitie pump ($79.95-$99.95) in navy, black and blush and the Cielo wedge ($129.95).

When I checked out, I got yet another card (this one was 30% off), valid from 12/8-12/16. So I might just have to make another trip to Steve Madden to buy the pumps in more colors. They’re pretty comfortable for a 4½-inch heel and way less expensive than the Brian Atwood Maniac Pumps that celebrities can’t get enough of.

Don’t feel like going to the store? Steve Madden’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday 25% off + free shipping deal is still valid through December 7. Click the button below to start shopping and enter MADDEN25 at checkout.

ttF Daily Fave: Gray Round Toe Pumps

Gray Round Toe Pumps

Last year, there were a pair of the most beautiful gray marble YSL pumps under the Christmas tree. And they were for me! Unfortunately, they didn’t fit—nor did the size above or below. For nearly 365 days, I’ve been searching for an alternative but nothing is good enough. I don’t usually like to settle but I think it’s time. I have to go the mall tomorrow so I’m going to pop into Steve Madden to try on their gray suede pumps. If those aren’t comfortable, I’m thinking of ordering these Stuart Weitzman Platswoon ($298). But the practical part of me is pushing for the much cheaper rsvp Kaily ($83) pumps. They’re no YSLs but the purple platform is pretty cute.
