ttF Fashion Staple: Rhinestone Necklace
Some people save new purchases for that special occasion. I’m more of an instant gratification type of girl. The minute a dress comes home with me, it’s a safe bet I’ll be wearing it real soon. And it took less that four hours to slip on a new mini I was given at 2B during a blogger afternoon.

I dressed up the mesh and jersey combo with this month’s staple necklace and lengthened my legs with nude platforms. The leggy look felt a little Kim Kardashian/Blake Lively-esque. So I took inspiration from their sleek ponytail red carpet looks and headed to Soho House to celebrate the end of September…and my friend Kinya’s birthday. That’s us below working our inner Charlie’s Angel.

ttF Fashion Staple: Orange Pencil Skirt and Rhinestone Necklace
There’s nothing to better to combat gray skies then fashion. This morning was extremely overcast, and pretty cold for LA standards. So I brightened my mood with bold color. This plaid shirt is a twist on the classic print with it’s rainbow palette. I usually wear it with jeans but tapped into fall’s colorblocking trend with warm hues. Since I had so much going on with my outfit, I kept accessories neutral: a little bling on my neck and nude shoes and tan bag.

ttF Fashion Staple: Rhinestone Necklace
I saved the best for last at fashion week. I absolutely adored this skirt of my mom’s from the 80s. And the sheer, burn-out fabric couldn’t be any more on trend for the season. So I took it to the tailor to take out some of the volume and packed it up for NYC. My mother used to wear it with tights. But I layered a mini dress under to show off the full sheer effect. Fall decided to kick in my last night in the city and the wind created gorgeous shapes as I walked to Lincoln Center for the last time this week.

I spent my final evening of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with my fellow bloggers (including Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot, pictured below) at an exclusive DKNY fashion show hosted by American Express (you can check out my review on the AMEX Skybox Report). It got a little chilly in the tents so I added a leather jacket over the dress to watch the resort show.

ttF Fashion Staple: Rhinestone Necklace
Tonight, I got the pleasure of seeing Tibi and Narciso Rodriguez at the American Express Skybox. Having never been to a Narciso show, I was absolutely psyched. Unfortunately, I’ve started to come down with a bit of the fashion week flu. So I wanted to make sure to stay warm at the tents. I buttoned a denim shirt up to my neck (a trend I’ve been noticing for next spring as well) and added two necklaces for extra shine. Then I slipped on my new silver pumps because nothing makes me feel better than a gorgeous pair of heels.
