ttF Fashion Staples Month #9 Summary: September City
I thought August went by fast, but this month was a speed demon. Luckily, my September staples were incredibly transitional because it got freezing in New York during fashion weekend and unbearably hot these past few days in Los Angeles.

My purple booties didn’t end up being as comfortable as I had hoped but the amount of compliments they generated made up for any amount of pain. People of all types and ages loved them. Sometimes it was quite surprising—in a good way, of course.

Here’s the breakdown for September…

I’m a big fan of mixing prints. Last year I wore this tribal skirt with stripes, and then again this past February. So today, I decided to combine it with polka dots instead. I brought some color into the black and white pattern by enhancing the cool color spots on my top with some purple accessories.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Arcade Autumn Party
I bought this dress at Squaresville around my birthday when I was looking for 60s costumes. I couldn’t believe it was only $10. It’s so incredibly Mad Men that I just had to add a little pouf to my half updo. A sparkly pair of D’Orsay peep toes added a little extra glamour. My only complaint about the dress is even though the jacquard is luxe it has absolutely no stretch, which made it very difficult to sit in the constricting fabric.

My friends laughed as I could barely breathe during the fashion show at Rochelle Gores Fredston‘s Arcade Boutique Autumn Party. The charity event, which benefited The Children’s Institute, was held at the rooftop of the London. It was a gorgeous event, and had a fabulous turnout with Paris and Nicky Hilton, Rick Fox, Eliza Dushku, Demi Lovato, Elisabeth Rohm and Jenna Dewan in the front row. The fashion show was of course my favorite party (all the looks shown are available at Arcade Boutique and I’m dying for Lisa Marie Fernandez’s neoprene dress). And my second fave was taking pictures with my friends Shauna, Jenn, Scott, Jenn and Michelle at the photo booth. Everyone just looks so much better in HD.

I recently did a post on Mystyle.com about how celebrities are taking florals into fall. It reminded me of this Rebecca Taylor dress I wore in February at fashion week. It’s breezy enough for the heat while still looking appropriate for the season. I’ve always worn it with some type of black shoe, so it was fun to bring out the purple flowers with my booties.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Ralph Lauren Pink Pony
This year, Polo Ralph Lauren is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Pink Pony, which is its global initiative to raise awareness and funds to help fight against cancer. Of course, like every October during National Breast Cancer Awareness month, Ralph Lauren offers Pink Pony products for men, women and kids. But this year, on October 3rd and 4th, 100% of the net proceeds of the philanthropic goods purchased at Ralph Lauren stores and Ralph Lauren.com go to the Fund.

They’ve also partnered with Charity Buzz to do an online auction. From October 1st-October 21st, you can bid on anything from a Taylor Swift signed guitar to front row seats at Ralph Lauren’s Fall 2011 Fashion Show.

So how do my dog Bunny and I fit into the mix? Well, Ralph Lauren enlisted 100 bloggers to model for the Pink Pony 10th Anniversary. I received my Pink Pony hoodie after I came home from New York with the fashion week flu. But I couldn’t let a cold stop me from putting together a hot outfit. I layered the knit under a faux leather jacket and went super girlie by combing the pink symbol with purple shoes (my favorite color combo as a kid). Using the label from the hoodie, I created a Pink Pony collar for Bunny.
