The Staple: Yellow Button-Down Blouse
Hi, my name is Sydne and I’m addicting to colorblocking. Ok, so maybe it’s not an addiction but it’s certainly an infatuation. Unexpected color pairing can brighten up any day. Take yellow, green and bubblegum pink, for example!

Just remember: when doing the trend stick to 2-3 colors max. Then, balance out the rest of your outfit with neutrals and metallics.

Inspired By: Ashley Olsen in Chambray

I came across the picture of Ashley Olsen on Pinterest. It’s so simple, yet so incredibly chic from the oversize chambray shirt down to her oxford shoes. And it’s an incredibly easy look to do yourself! I went with nude heels instead of white to elongate my legs. And I chose a shirt that was a bit more fitted so I didn’t overwhelm my figure.

Inspired By: Charlize Theron in Dior

The minute I saw Charlize Theron walking into The Today Show, I immediately added her to my Pinterest board. Her minimalist look is absolute perfection. And a black turtleneck with a matching pencil skirt is extremely slimming (you might remember my winter variation here).

While Charlize went with Dior Pre-Fall 2012 and Donna Karan sandals I did a more affordable take. This is definitely an outfit you can do at any price point. The only thing to remember is dressing for your body type. Since I’m not blessed with Charlize’s long legs, I did a pencil skirt just above the knee instead of below for an elongating effect.

Florals + Nudes

The Staple: Floral Shorts
When you really want a print to pop, nude is the perfect pairing. To keep things interesting, I played around with different textures: chainmail knit, perforated leather and python. And I couldn’t resist adding an extra pop of color with emerald accents. The jewel tone is all the rage right now.

Matchy-Matchy

The Staple: Floral Shorts
I’m seriously infatuated with Ted Baker’s spring flower and bug print… so much so that I didn’t stop at the shorts. I had to buy the matching bag too. How nice is the rose gold chain?! Continuing the matchy-matchy theme, I coordinated my coral cardi with my pumps, but then added a minty cool top for a little contrast.
