A-Z Trend Guide: Tailored Suits

This week’s A-Z Trend Guide episode is so extremely versatile. As I’ve shown in my Staples Series, you can wear a suit as is, or as separates—which gives you endless styling possibilities. See two more ways I’m wearing the tailored suit trend in the video above. Then shop some of my online finds below!

Ask Sydne: What Color Should I Be Wearing Now?

You’ve really inspired me to add more color in my wardrobe. What color should I be looking for right now? —via Sydne Style inbox

If you can only add one color to your wardrobe make it orange. Pantone, the color authority in fashion, declared Tangerine Tango the color of the year. Just take a look at both the spring and fall runways and you’ll get an idea. Here are my top picks that work for warmer and colder months.

1. Top Shop skirt, $55
2. Kate Spade iPhone case, $88
3. Vera Wang flats, $175
4. La Mer watch, $88
5. Bar III ring, $28
6. Mango cardigan, $29.99
7. Belle Noel cuff, $100
8. Sonia by Sonia Rykiel scarf, $100
9. Rebecca Minkoff bag, $295
10. Ann Taylor pants, $128
11. Sam Edelman Sophie wedge, $120 (they’re not in the collage but I’m obsessed! Also thinking of getting them in black)

Spring 2010 Paris Fashion Week Trends: Hesitant About Cargo

Cargo
As much as I like military, I’m not excited for the cargo pant.. or short or skirt. The pockets are practical, yes. But with those extra pockets comes extra volume to your hips and legs. And who wants that?

Michelle Obama’s Sonia Rykiel Belt at Paris Fashion Week

Michelle Obama’s Sonia Rykiel Belt at Paris Fashion Week

Last spring, Michelle Obama started a plastic craze when she wore a clear Sonia Rykiel belt on the cover of Oprah magazine. All of a sudden there was plastic everywhere from Chanel bags to Maison Martin Margiela shoulder pads. Sonia Rykiel clearly wants to capitalize on designing the First Lady’s fave clear accessory. The same belt with different color buckles cinched every other model’s waist on Sonia Rykiel’s Spring 2010 runway.
