Sydne Style - Grammys Style Coalition Covergirl HPSee more red carpet trends over at Style United! 

Being in New York for fashion week wasn’t going to stop me from celebrating the Grammys back in LA. Luckily, Style Coalition, HP and Covergirl hosted a fab viewing party so I could stay connected with all the red carpet fashion.

As for my look, I went with gold to celebrate the evening. A maxi dress with a high neckline is an easy instant glamour look. It begs for you to throw your hair back into a ponytail and allows you to wear warm, chunky boots underneath to stay comfy while still looking chic.

My best dressed pics of the night were Rihanna, Florence Welch and Natasha Bedingfield. Who were yours?

The Scene: Day to Night With Downy

If you’ve read the August issue of Elle, you’ve already seen my two-page advertorial with Downy. If not, click here or here to go behind-the-scenes. This week, Downy flew me out to New York for their Summer Scent Soirée with Elle & Style Coalition. Since I was only in town for two days, I packed light. Translation? Flirty dresses that roll up in my suitcase and easily transition from day to night.

Day to Night 1: Zara dress
Thanks to the pencil skirt shape, this dress doesn’t show creases, making it perfect for travel. For day, I balanced out the short hemline with ballet flats and spiced it up at night with sparkly accessories.

Day to Night 2: French Connection Wild Fire dress
I knew I wanted to wear this dress to the big event. The print makes such a stylish statement! For day, I added a preppy vibe with a striped sweater and stayed comfy in small wedges. For night, I played with mixed prints,  piled on the bracelets and added a platform wedge.

My travel tip is sticking to the same palette. Everything I brought was in the pink, nude, black and white color family. That way I could easily interchange my looks, and spice it up with statement jewelry, which is much smaller to pack.
