I’ve already covered what to wear to a black tie optional and cocktail wedding. So today’s post is all about the beach. While I was in Hawaii, I attended an ocean front wedding in Waikiki. Since I knew the ceremony and reception was at the hotel I was able to wear heels. When it’s on the sand, wedges or flats are a safer choice. You can always go for an embellished sandal for a more dressed up feel.
Color is always welcome for beach weddings. Of course, stay away from red and white (it takes away from the bride!). But don’t be scared of a print or a little sparkle. I went with a dress my mom actually wore years ago to an event in the islands. The asymmetrical hemline toned down the sequined embellishment. If you go plain, dress it up with a colorful statement necklace or bold earrings. And if you absolutely must do black, try one with a tropical pattern—or opt for navy! It’s equally slimming but a little more beach friendly, especially when paired with boho gold jewelry. Here are some dress options that would work:
1. Cynthia Steffe, $395
2. Nicole Miller, $695
3. Presley Skye, $148
4. Donna Morgan, $198
5. Cynthia Steffe, $375
6. Patra, $198
7. Kate Spade, $458
8. Donna Morgan, $158
