Pinterest Trends: Hello Yellow

Welcome to my new addiction. Pinning. For those of you who have already joined the Pinterest craze I’m sure you understand what I mean. Pinterest allows you to arrange all your favorite images onto boards. And I’ve decided to organize mine by trends. Every day, I add outfits from celebrities, bloggers, magazine and catalogs to get inspired on how to wear the hottest fashion and beauty trends. Since it’s raining in LA this week, I figured I’d brighten things up with my favorite color. See more on my Hello Yellow board.

Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week Trends: Yellow

Yellow has always been my favorite color. So I was thrilled to see it all over the runways for spring. And there’s shade for every skin tone from more leom pastels to vibrant mustards. The Pantone color report named “Solar Power” the top yellow shade, saying it “radiates warmth and cheer.” Think you can’t wear the hue? Not to worry, designers like Tory Burch showed how to incorporate the color trend with accessories, too.

ttF Fashion Staple: Brooch Necklace
As I’ve mentioned before, whenever I’m on camera, I try to go for bright colors. So when I shot a quick beauty video for Proactiv this morning I chose a mustard sweater dress. It’s a huge color this season so I thought why not go the extra golden distance with matching tights? It got positive responses from co-workers, who said the cheery color brightened their day.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Happy Clogs
When I was in Miami, Steve Madden had an offer I couldn’t refuse: get 30% off fall styles, and then pick any shoe from their clearance wall for $20. I choose these clogs. I’ve been hesitant about the clog trend (the shoes are comfy but not exactly the most flattering). But the peep-toe on these platforms don’t cut off the ankle as much as the closed toe version.

A bright cardigan and studded belt transformed my dress from sexy to office appropriate with a bit of edge. My favorite color, yellow, + new shoes = me happy.
