Everything leather is on trend for fall. I especially loved all the leather sleeves seen on jackets, dresses and coats. It gave just a touch of edge. And was right in line with the season’s mixed texture trend.

Eyelet fabrics made outfits extra sweet for spring. While white is a classic, I particularly like the colorful eyelet seen at Alice + Olivia. If the fabric is too girlie-girl for you, try mesh, which was also a major trend on the runways.

Olive replaced last year’s khaki in the earthy tones category. Solid cotton dresses gave a minimalist safari chic vibe while more embellished pieces dressed up the color for night.

If you can only splurge on one item this fall, make it leather. It was on every piece of clothing; dresses, tops, skirts.. even palazzo pants. I know I’m personally saving up for a leather dress since seeing them on both the spring and fall runways. Now the only decision is whether I should go with black or a bold color!
