It’s official: 2020 is the summer of tie-dye. If you’ve been scrolling through Instagram, I’m sure you’ve noticed more and more tie-dye recently. It’s a trend that’s been growing over the years and now is everywhere! While I love a good DIY, creating tie-dye at home is a little too scary for me with all my white home decor. So I’ve been slowly adding pre-made tie-dye pieces into my wardrobe. Here are some of my favorite tie-dye outfit ideas.
In honor of National Eat What You Want Day, I created this fun image for Instagram in three of my favorite tie-dye sets. The print makes me so happy whether I’m eating carbs and candy or staying healthy with a salad. I guess that’s why it’s so popular. We could all use a little extra happiness in our lives right now.
Tie-Dye camisoles
My favorite way to wear the tie-dye trend is with a top. I thought about getting a tie-dye sweatshirt but it’s already so hot LA so I got a few camisoles. I live in camis and jeans during the summer. And a tie-dye cami is a fun way to bring in color.
Tie-Dye button-downs
Another style top I live in is the button-down. This lightweight tie-dye button down comes with matching tie-dye shorts, perfect for lounging at home! When I eventually go outside, I can swap the shorts with jeans.
Tie-Dye Dresses
For all-over tie-dye, I go for tie-dresses. I’m super into slip dresses, because they feel like you’re wearing pajamas. I wore this tie-dye slip dress (now on sale!) from morning to night the other week while at home.
When it comes to my tie-dye outfits, I love them all. But when it comes to #NationalEatWhatYouWantDay I definitely have a favorite. Can you guess?
Pasta, pasta, pasta! I’ve been really into vegan pesto pasta during quarantine because it’s so easy to make at home. But when I do my weekly food delivery to support my fave local restaurants, I more often than not cheat on my no-meat diet and get bolognese. It’s my forever favorite pasta dish!
I’m sure I’ll be sharing more tie-dye outfit ideas as we head into summer. But I hope you enjoyed my first look into the trend. And random fact: did you know that tie-dye originated in Japan? Shibori is a form of tie-dye that has been practice there since the 8th century. That’s one of the silver linings of this pandemic. With all this time at home, I’ve been learning so much!
SHOP MY SYDNE SUMMER Tie Dye FACE MASKS
And, as always, please be safe if you’re going outside. There are so many cute face masks online. Since today is a tie-dye theme, I’m obviously wearing my favorite tie-dye face mask.
Too cute! I love the tie-dye trend and can’t wait to pick up some of these pieces for summer!
