Halloween DIY: Jennifer Lopez Green Dress Costume

Sydne-Style-how-to-diy-jennifer-lopez-versace-dress-grammys-belly-button-halloween-costume-ideas-jenny-from-the-blockTo cap off Halloween, my friend had a rockstar themed birthday. I was having trouble deciding who to be. So many of the singers I wanted to emulate were blonde—and I’m not the biggest fan of wigs. Then “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” came on the radio and I decided to be Jennifer Lopez. While shopping, I couldn’t believe my luck. I spotted a long-sleeve maxi dress that instantly made me think of J.Lo’s iconic Versace from the 2000 Grammys. This inspired my Jennifer Lopez green dress costume!

The dress had a high neck but a small V in the back. So I wore it backwards and had my tailor cut two deep slits. I found a colorful brooch at H&M and large hoop earrings. While J.Lo’s dress was sheer and a bit more revealing, I felt much more comfortable in the stretchy fabric and plenty of double stick tape. I hope everyone had a chic Halloween weekend!
