Everyone is talking about a #hotgirlsummer. Honestly, I don’t totally understand what hot girl summer means. It’s something about being totally yourself, which I’m all for. Still, even after reading where hot girl summer originated, I’m not 100% sure I get it. But a hot pink summer? I’m all about that… especially because a hot pink summer easily transitions into a hot pink fall.
My hot pink summer began after I was inspired by all the hot pink dresses on the red carpet at Cannes and the Met Gala. Then I fell in love with Mary Kay’s hot pink lipstick, and started to add pops of hot pink from everything to neutrals to colorblock brights. Most recently, I found this hot pink top (now on sale!). The chiffon overlay makes it cool enough to wear now, but still enough of a statement to use for fall fashion. Here’s how I’m wearing it now and later…
hot pink summer
For summer, I love hot pink with denim. I slipped into one my fave high waist jeans and matched my top with bright lipstick. A messy ponytail gave the look more of a relaxed vibe and I made it more summer friendly with a fringe straw bag.
hot pink fall
For fall, I kept the beauty the same, simply trading a messy ponytail for a more sleek one. Then I slipped into a leather pencil skirt for a bold fall look. I’m all about bright colors with black leather for next season. I matched my top with a hot pink sandal but you can do a pump too as temperatures start to drop. And a black Chanel bag? Well that’s a classic that works any season.
I was motivated by all the hot pink outfits on the red carpet at Cannes and the Met Gala to start my hot pink summer. Then, after falling in love with Mary Kay’s hot pink lipstick, I began to incorporate hot pink accents into all of my outfits, from neutrals to colour-blocked brights.
