Holiday weekend snaps 🎄📸 what are your favorite activities to do in December?

Since everything is Preston’s first, it’s like I get to rediscover life all over again. When we went Christmas tree shopping with my parents, I loved watching him explore all the branches with his little hands.

I also also hosted my first little holiday party at the house. It was so heartwarming to see my home filled with kids, dogs, love and laughter. ❤️

3 Ways to Elevate a Charcuterie Board 🧀 Save for your next holiday gathering

I love making cheese boards (if you saw my Thanksgiving turkey you already know this about me). And you don’t need to be artistic to make a board look fancy. Just try this 3 simple tricks:

1. Salami roses 🌹
Fold salami around a glass. The more meat you use, the prettier the rose. I like using a champagne flute for a tighter flower. Try to use sliced Genoa salami. I substituted with Calabrase one time and it was way too sticky.

2. Decorative cheese ⭐️
I bought a set of vegetable cutter shapes for my son’s meals. For the holiday, I simply used the star shape on sliced cheese. If you have kids this is a fun activity to do with them!

3. Pot of honey 🍯
There’s something about a little pot of honey that instantly makes a board look fancier, especially when you add a honey dipper.

It’s all about stripes and sneakers this week. It’s much cooler in San Diego now. So I’m bringing out all my sweaters.

{Look 1} I’ve had this lightweight trench for years. It’s such a great staple! I love a 3/4 sleeve because it lets you show off your layers, like this new striped sweater.

{Look 2} This sweater is actually part of a lounge set. I simply swapped the pants for jeans and added a button down underneath. Since I’m a boy mom, I’ve been embracing a little more of a sporty style. Enter the baseball cap and sneakers.

{Look 3} These Adidas Sambas are so comfy that I can’t stop wearing them. Ditto to this oversized turtleneck. I paired it with the same jeans from look 1 and an army jacket with extra roomy pockets… because you know, mom life.

This is one of my favorite fashion hacks, especially during this time of year. It helps you get more use out of your holiday dresses! You can do it with most fitted dresses as long as your sweater is a bit of a thicker knit and/or a darker color than your dress.

• Layer a sweater over your dress
• Tuck the front of the sweater into a thin waist belt and blouse it over to cover the belt
• Fold the fabric of the sweater in back underneath

Snaps from Preston’s first Thanksgiving 🦃

This was definitely my favorite Thanksgiving yet! Usually my family and I do an untraditional Thanksgiving dinner with stone crabs from Miami. But this year was PJ’s first holiday + my stepsister and her kids were visiting. So we did a traditional meal with turkey, all the sides and the best home baked pies. 🍒🥧

Preston and I were in charge of the turkey charcuterie board and JJ and Chubbs were happy to help with clean up duty.

One of my favorite parts of the day? Seeing Preston stare at his cousin in awe as she played jingle bells on her viola (swipe to the end to see the cuteness!). 🎻
