My favorite part of ThinkThruFashion is the One Item, Different Look series. Especially in this economy, it’s important to know how to get the most use of your wardrobe. Sheena Matheiken is taking this concept to the next level. In May 2009, she pledged to wear the same dress, different ways, every day for an entire year!
The exercise in sustainable fashion is a yearlong fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, which helps educate slum children in India. Sheena, who grew up in India, had her best friend, designer Eliza Starbuck, create seven identical button-up shift dresses. Vote on her daily styling of the little black dress at theuniformproject.com.
What an amazing idea and interesting way to raise money. I love it.

I continue to be fascinated by this project. It’s a very creative way to raise money, and it’s amazing how many variations she has come up with.
