ttF NYFW Runway Recap: Day 4

Malandrino
Paying homage to French ceramist Roger Capron, Catherine Malandrino showed terracotta and clay colors in knits, crochet, jersey and sheer gauze. Silhouettes were long and lean, thanks to wide-leg trousers and soft draping. Oceanic prints mixed with pinks and lilac made you crave a beach vacation while agate jewelry and shoes added a tribal influence. Like fall, the designer showed her talent when it comes to leather, with crackled jackets and olive boleros. The only questionable piece? A boy short skirt.
Trends: Crochet, Macrame, Tribal, Sheer, Wide-Leg, Agate, Purple, Harem Pants, Leather Jackets

Rebecca Taylor
Before the show, Rebecca Taylor said that she was influenced by Jerry Hall. And indeed the collections showcased the glam 70s from gold hoops to mirrored embellishments and plenty of snakeskin. Maxi and midi skirts and dresses were long, flowy and pleatedβ€”some featuring florals, others playful pom pom prints. Pants had high-waists and wide legs. Coral and jade brightened an otherwise neutral runway of gray, blush, vanilla and taupe.
Trends: 70s, Fluidity, Florals, Nude Booties, Snakeskin, Denim, Wide-Leg, Jumpsuits, Coral, Blush, Gray, Midi Skirt

Rebecca Minkoff
Like other designers, Rebecca Minkoff played with neutrals: nude draping, gray cutouts and black leather. But a series of red brightened up the presentation. While the jumpsuits, leather jackets, shorts and draped dresses were wearable the real standouts were the accessories. Like always, the bags were ΓΌber cool. But this season, the designer added a new line of shoes to the mix: studded clogs, pony hair booties, platforms and strappy sandals more than held their own.
Trends: Nudes, Animal Prints, Snakeskin, Chains, Cutouts, Red, Nudes, Leather Jackets
