Ask Sydne: Cute Cross-Body Bags For Europe?

Ask Sydne Cross-Body Bags for European Vacation
Can you suggest any cute yet functional cross-body bags for trekking the streets of Barcelona? —Emily

When it comes to choosing a bag for a trip to Europe, my most important piece of advice is multiple pockets. You don’t want to have to worry about any pickpocketers ruining your vacay. So I always keep my expensive items (wallet, camera, etc) in a zippered inside pocket. Then, I place the items that I use often (lipgloss, maps, etc) in the outside pocket for easy access.

Now you already asked for a cross-body, which is a great shape to have while traveling. Here are my top three picks:

1. Matt and Nat Nico Bag
Denim goes with everything. So I absolutely adore this eco-friendly duffle. It also comes in a cool light blue but the darker wash is more travel friendly for hiding dirt. It’s 100% cotton, which makes it extremely lightweight. Plus, the cross-body strap is removable. So when you’re out having a paella dinner, you can easily transform the bag into a cute satchel. Plus, if you wear jeans on the trip, which I’m guessing you will, you’ll be right on point with spring’s denim on denim trend.

2. Linea Pelle Dylan Large Cross-Body
While cotton is extremely lightweight, leather is durable. And when it’s handmade, like Linea Pelle’s handbags, it’s extremely soft. Coral is one of the biggest colors this season, so it could be fun using a handbag to make your travel outfits pop. One great feature about the Dylan is it’s expandable. So you can start off your morning small, then your bag can grow as you pick up souvenirs along the way.

3. Nine West Convertable Bag
While cross-body styles are great, sometimes it’s nice to have a shoulder option. This bag gives you both and while it comes in various neutrals I like the tan best, since it goes with everything. It has the multiple zippers and is such a classic that you can wear on your next vacay in one, five or ten years!

Bon voyage!
