October welcomes a new fashion season. It’s finally fall! To kick off a fresh set of trends, I decided to go with one of the most popular colors from the runways: Bordeaux. The rich wine, burgundy, red and purple hues are an easy way to add a luxurious feel to your daily outfits. For an up close look at each piece, head over to my YouTube channel!
Here are the 6 fashion staples I’ll be wearing 6 ways each for the next 31 days…
1. Cold Shoulder Blouse (Victoria’s Secret)
This top combines quite a few trends into one: sheer, the tie neck blouse and the cold shoulder, thanks to subtly sexy slit sleeves. With layering, you can make it more conservative, or show a peek of skin for a night out.
2. Purple Statement Necklace (Forever 21)
Statement necklaces are one of my absolute favorite trends. And this rich jewel tone is so on point for fall. Plus, it looks way more expensive than it is. When I shot a segment on Fox, Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Alexis Bellino even wanted the necklace!
3. Wine Velvet Jeans (J Brand)
Because of the great response I got on July’s red jeans, I wanted to do a seasonal update this month. Enter the über soft, wine colored, denim legging. You can dress them up or go more casual and they are so incredibly comfortable that you won’t want to take them off.
4. Wool Floppy Hat (JCPenney)
I’ve toyed around with my black floppy hat many times on my blog. So I decided to commit to wearing it six times now that the 70s are so back in style. I picked this one up on sale and can’t wait to pair it with dresses and wide leg jeans.
5. Red Exotic Bag (Cole Haan)
Last month, I got my colorful snakeskin fix with shoes. This time I’m going the handbag route. I actually bought this embossed bag years ago because I was drawn to the many ways you can wear it. Just goes to show how a little exotic never goes out of style.
6. Burgundy Platforms (Sole Society)
When these shoes popped up in my online closet I immediately got the urge to try them on. Of course, I had to wait a few days for them to enter my real closet, but I was right. The platform makes the high heel very walkable and the cutouts are great for transitioning from warmer into colder days.
