I was so impressed with the fashion at this year’s Golden Globes. Of course, most of us never have an occasion to get so glammed up. But, you can take inspiration from many of the red carpet looks and incorporate them into your every day outfits.
Elle Macpherson (Zac Posen Lorraine, Schwartz bangles) and Heidi Klum (Calvin Klein, Lorraine Schwartz jewels)
Bold accessories really pop when paired with neutrals. Take inspiration from these gorgeous models by pairing a nude top and jeans with bright jewelry to get ready for spring.
Julianne Moore (Chanel, Fred Leighton jewels), Julianna Margulies (Naeem Khan gown), Debra Messing (Monique Lhuillier, Lorraine Schwartz jewels), Lea Michele (Marchesa, Lorraine Shwartz jewels)
After seeing the red carpet this year, emerald costume jewelry just went to number one on my wishlist. The rich jewel tone brings an über luxurious feel to all black—and works equally as well with contrasting purple. Just steer clear of overkill. As much as I adored Lea’s ring it was too much with her sparkly gown.
Kate Winslet (Jenny Packham) and Claire Danes (J. Mendel)
Black and white is a classic combo. And these actresses showed how to use it to your advantage. Want to minimize your bust? Wear black on top and white on bottom. Prefer to disguise your problem areas around your hips and thighs? Bring attention to your face with white on top and black on bottom. And I just had to throw in a back shot of the Best Actress in a TV drama. Gorgeous!
And just for fun… Here are my top six favorites of the night:
