The Staple: Faux Fur Collar Cardigan
Faux fur makes me think of more decadent times, when women wore opera gloves just to have cocktails. While I can’t exactly get away with that in 2012, there are elements to bring a bit of the past into fashion. For dinner and drinks, I kept it modern with a pencil skirt and cami then went retro with art deco jewelry and a vintage-inspired clutch. And clearly I have a thing for leopard and lace (evidence: here and here). So I finished it off with my lacy platforms.

If it’s colder where you live, this look would work equally as well with pumps and black sheer or opaque tights.
