I was in awe of the red carpet at the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Finally there were fashion risks and full on glamour! And luckily, many of the trends translate quite well into real life. Take the colorful clutches or bright earrings stars used to add an unexpected pop to their gowns. You can easily replicate the accessory trends in your every day look!
Colorful Clutches(Julianne Hough in Monique Lhuillier and Salvatore Ferregamo bag, Hayden Panettiere in Roberto Cavalli and Kotur bag, Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen and Judith Leiber bag)
Use a bright handbag to add a pop of color to your pale colored dresses this spring. This trick works equally as well now with a pastel sweater and skinny jeans!
(Taylor Swift in Donna Karan, Megan Fox in Dolce & Gabbana and Lorraine Schwartz earrings, Miranda Kerr)
A dramatic drop earring in a bold color will really draw attention to your face. Match the jewelry to your clothing like Taylor or Miranda for a monochromatic statement. Or, use them to add a pop of color to a neutral outfit, like Megan.
(Jennifer Garner in Vivienne Westwood, Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta, Claire Danes in Versace)
While everyone predicted emerald would rule the carpet, red was a clear winner. The powerful color looks good on everyone!
Metallic Belts(Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior and Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior Couture)
A metal belt adds a futuristic touch to any look. Try adding one to an old dress you have hanging in your closet.
Pastel Blue(Rosario Dawson, Nicole Richie in Naeem Khan, Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein Collection)
Aside from red, pastel blue was a big color of the night. Try a soft periwinkle with jeans now and a flirty seafoam dress come spring!
And just for fun… here are my top six faves from the night!
(Kate Hudson in McQueen, Emily Blunt in Michael Kors, Julianne Moore in Tom Ford, Amy Adams in Marchesa, Julianne Marguilies in Pucci, Naomi Watts in Zac Posen)
Who were your best dressed pics of the night?
