Everyone is usually so focused on New Year’s Eve that they forget about what to wear earlier that day. Considering it’s your last day outfit of 2013 you certainly want to sparkle! I use Old Navy’s sequin tank ($8-$19.94) to transition from a casual running errands look to a festive party outfit.
For day, I kept warm by adding a puffer jacket. Then I mixed exotics by doubling up on my snakeskin with my purse. Since I’m in LA, I can get away with flats in the winter. But boots would work easily as well if it’s snowing by you. The trick to making this super casual outfit more chic is sticking to a monochromatic color palette.
To transition into night, It’s all about adding the glitz. I swapped my faux fur puffer for a faux fur vest with embellished neckline. Then I traded my glitter flats for a sparkly clutch. I think leather leggings are a great alternative to a dress for New Year’s. They allow you to show off your figure without freezing. This outfit could work equally as well for a Christmas Eve party, too!
