Being from Los Angeles I wear jeans all the time. But I make a mental note to slip on a pair every April for Denim Day. Peace Over Violence launched the now national holiday to raise awareness of rape and sexual assault. It all started when a rape conviction was overturned in Italy because they assumed the woman must have helped the man take off her tight skinny jeans. The next day, women in the Italian Parliament united by all wearing jeans to work.
To support the cause, I’m wearing Guess skinny jeans (the Guess Foundation donates $2 to the cause for every pair sold). These are actually a cropped pair that I unrolled so they hit just above my ankle. I like the mid rise because I can tuck my shirt in without getting muffin top.
I was inspired by Chrissy Tiegen, who keeps rocking the most perfect denim style! I loved how she dressed up a simple white tee the other week with a relaxed jacket and white pumps. Instead of a boxy silk style, I did a draped jacket to flatter my shorter frame.
