This year, Elle is celebrating their 70th anniversary. So they designed a capsule collection of seven dresses for Kohl’s representing the 1940s to the 2000s. I teamed up with Kohl’s to show my two favorite fashion decades: the ’50s and ’60s. You can shop the full collection (on sale for only $45!) here. I’d love to hear which decade is your favorite!
I absolutely love ’50s silhouettes. They’re so feminine and really show off a woman’s physique. The Elle x Kohl’s 1950s dress has a fit and flare shape that cinches the waist and highlights the collarbone. And I just adore the gingham pattern! All the dresses are black and white, so I kept to the color scheme with my accessories, adding a pop of color with a classic red lip. Then I threw on some cat-eye sunnies to give the look more of a retro feel.

For my second outfit, I chose the ’60s. I’ve always been a fan of flirty shifts. They’re so easy to wear from day to night. The Elle x Kohl’s 1960s dress is super flattering thanks to black lace side panels, which help shave off a few inches! I don’t often wear flats with dresses, but I thought the pointy style worked with the shorter length. Then I kept to the black and white scheme, again adding some color with my lipstick.
