What to Wear to a Bridal Shower Brunch

Los Angeles Fashion writer Sydne Summer styles an elegant tropical print dress by Ted Baker for a bridal shower brunch.As you might have seen from past posts, my best friend is getting married. Last month was the bachelorette, and this month we celebrated with a bridal shower. The bride-to-be usually wears white. So like a wedding, guests should stay away from white. I wanted something that was festive yet still a little conservative. Luckily, Ted Baker just hosted a party in LA and let me pick out a dress for the event. I chose something that would work for the bridal shower, too.

I was instantly drawn the the dress’ tropical floral print. While flower motifs are often associated with spring, the deep blues and greens easily translate to fall if you switch up your accessories. For the brunch, I kept with nude accents and added a tiny touch of color with my bangles. The lunch was held at Fig & Olive in Meatpacking and we had such a nice time celebrating. So I ordered Michelle a zip-card case with her new initials and was so happy it only took two days to arrive to my hotel in New York!

    I have such a hard time dressing for bridal showers (something tricky about wanting to look conservative enough but still feel fun & feminine). Loving this dress you picked…soft and sophisticated with a touch a sass…super cute!
