I’ve always loved the Art Deco buildings on South Beach. I was inspired by the abstract architecture while packing for Miami Swim Week and brought along this asymmetrical dress. The great part about the higher neckline is it works well with a slicked back ponytail, which is my go-to hairstyle for summer in sweltering heat!
Since we were attending a fancy dinner party, I added in a ponytail hair extension for a more dramatic look. I kept my accessories neutral but whenever I’m in Miami I feel the need for a pop of color. So I used two lipsticks I discovered at my underwater photoshoot to create a bold orange lip.
My travel buddy Taye had the same idea, brightening up her white jumpsuit with a fun palm tree pouch. You can see more of her outfit over on her blog, Stuff She Likes. And a huge thank you to my beautiful cousin, Alyse, for snapping these photos before the party. It was so hot out we literally had five minutes before we melted.
Later this week I’ll be posting my Miami Swim Week Travel Diary with all the outfits I wore.
