Frequently Asked Questions

Is Sydne Summer your real name?

Yup! I was named after my great uncle, Sidney. I used to hate my name as a kid and wanted to change it to Elizabeth. Now I love the unique spelling!

How tall are you?

I’m only 5’3 but you’ll usually find me in heels. So most people don’t realize I’m a shortie.

Who takes your photos?

I work with a handful photographers and shoot about once a week. I wrote a whole blog post on how I handle not having an “Instagram Husband.”

Who shoots your YouTube videos?

I’ve been working with Tim for years. She’s amazing! She shoots and edits basically all my videos. I film my travel ones on my Sony a5100 but she edits those, too.

Where do you get your hair done?

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Sean at Juan Juan in Beverly Hills since I was 16! My mane color man is Kim Vo.

What did you major in and where did you go to school?

I was an English major at Tufts University. I spent a year studying abroad in London (I highly recommend travel programs during college!). But what prepared me the most were my internships. I interned for various outlets and pr firms throughout college and my favorite was working for Boston Magazine my senior year.

Where did you do before you became a blogger?

I started my career as E! Online’s Hollywood Party Girl columnist. I then transferred over to Style Network as their fashion editor.

What advice would you give to newbie bloggers?

Be consistent. Start a schedule and stick with it. Even if you can only commit to two posts a week, start with that. Also, figure out your voice. What is your point of view? What do you have to show and say that’s different than all the other bloggers out there. And whether you’re just starting out or a blogging vet, make sure to network!
