DIY ghosts that are inexpensive and waterproof ftw

DIY ghosts that are inexpensive and waterproof ftw 👻

→ Leave a SPOOKY in the comments and I’ll DM you a link to the materials

I’ve been trying to make my kiddo happy with Halloween decorations while staying on a budget. Enter tablecloth ghosts. The vinyl tablecloths are only $1 each, I bought my foam pumpkins in a pack to use all over the house, and I already had the fishing wire and sharpie at home. With all this El Niño weather we’re having in San Diego, I super appreciate the vinyl being waterproof for outdoor Halloween decorations!

Extra tip: to make it more secure, you can use some packing tape to secure the fishing line to the stem of the pumpkin and the sheet.

I wish I did these 4 things before my Gmail got hacked!

I’ve told every friend and family member I talked to last week to secure their accounts, and now I’m going to be that annoying friend to you too. But seriously. Do it.

→ leave a READ in the comments and I’ll send you a link to my free Substack post on how to protect yourself from cyber fraud in just 20 min

This is totally off topic for me but it took me two full days to secure my accounts after I was hacked, so I want to make sure it doesn’t happen to you too. Hope it’s helpful! xx

Our DIY Paw Patrol costumes from last year came in

Our DIY Paw Patrol costumes from last year came in handy!

→ Leave a SPOOKY in the comments and I’ll DM you a link to everything I used for our DIY family costume.

I wanted my son’s first movie theater experience to be extra special. So when the Paw Patrol movie came out I told him we were going to dress up for the big day. He reused his DIY Chase costume from last Halloween but wanted me to be Skye. So I threw on a pink tank, a brown matching set, added sunnies for goggles, and then printed out a pink shield for an easy DIY Skye costume. 10 out of 10 recommend dressing up for the movies (and if you need an easy family Halloween costume idea, this one keeps giving!).

I wanted spooky chic Halloween decor without spend

I wanted spooky chic Halloween decor without spending too much. Enter: two spools of black ribbon. It was under $20 and super simple.

→ Leave a SPOOKY in the comments and I’ll DM you a link to everything I used.

I used three spools total: a thin black satin ribbon I already had in a multi-pack for gift wrapping, a thicker black satin ribbon, and a black chiffon ribbon. The chiffon gets tattered in the wind and gives me Black Swan vibes. I tied a black bow on everything, from cheap plastic skeletons and a DIY Halloween wreath to my Christmas candle holders from last year. It’s all about reusing what you already have.

Handmade Halloween decor that’s kid-friendly, spoo

Handmade Halloween decor that’s kid-friendly, spooky chic, and budget-friendly = this year’s goals.

→ Comment SPOOKY and I’ll send you the link to every material I used.

Tbh, I didn’t have a theme when I started these DIY Halloween crafts, but somewhere along the way it turned into Chanel meets crafty librarian Halloween. Follow for more handmade Halloween ideas all month long.

What do butterflies mean to you? 🦋 I’ve been seein

What do butterflies mean to you? 🦋
I’ve been seeing them everywhere recently. I think it’s a sign of transformation. Others say it’s just the season in San Diego.

Either way, it got me thinking about my butterfly metamorphosis over the years. It’s gone from middle school booty dancing to ordering a butterfly habitat on Amazon for same-day delivery. Saturday night at 42 is watching the broken butterfly Bijou and I found on our walk live out her final weeks in peace.

Part of my transformation is listening to my body more. That’s why I’m taking a mental health week. I shared more in my weekly newsletter. If you’d like to receive them, comment with the word SUBSTACK and I’ll dm you the sign up link. ♡
